A Welcome Letter From REP!

Happy Friday! More importantly - happy first full week of REP Physical Therapy & Performance being officially open for business!

Had you told little 2021 Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate Cíara Forde that one day she would be starting her own physical therapy practice, she would NEVER have believed you. I was still gaining confidence as a physical therapist - I would not have been able to fathom being a business owner on top of that.

Five years, hundreds of patients, and thousands of treatment visits later, here I am!

Now let me tell you, I still have a LONG way to go and a LOT to learn about being a business owner, but boy did I miss working as a physical therapist. Being able to finally start seeing patients again this first week reminded me that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be.

I wanted to open REP for a myriad of reasons (myriad’s a great word, I know).

I wanted to create a space where I could truly work one-on-one with people and do more than just help someone get out of pain .

I  wanted to provide people with clarity, a clear path forward, and the confidence to get back to doing whatever it is they love most.

I also didn't want to just treat someone's symptoms and send them on their way, only for them to circle back in 3-6 months with the same problem again. I wanted to give people the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to return to physical activity or athletic performance safely, while reducing their risk of future injury or re-injury.

I wanted people to understand that pain and injury don't exist in a vacuum. Factors like sleep, nutrition, stress, recovery, and training habits all have a profound impact on our health, our ability to heal, and our performance.

Most importantly, I wanted the time to truly listen. I wanted to sit down with people, hear their story, understand what they've been struggling with, and answer all of their questions. I didn't want anyone to feel rushed through another medical appointment because I was juggling multiple patients at the same time. I wanted every person who walked through my doors to feel heard, understood, and confident in the plan we created together.

I wanted all of this, and now I finally have it, and I couldn’t be more excited to watch REP grow!

To every friend, family member, local healthcare provider, gym, run club, fitness club, and community member who has supported me so far—thank you. I truly can't express how much your encouragement and support have meant to me. Starting a business is equal parts exciting AND terrifying, and I'm incredibly grateful to have such an amazing community behind me already.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I promise REP will always be committed to delivering physical therapy care centered around what matters most—personalized, relationship-driven, research-based treatment focused on helping people return to the activities and moments they love.

See you around the office soon!

Ciara

P.S. — Blogs will be MUCH shorter going forward and packed with information, tips, and resources to help YOU feel, move, and perform your best!

Documenting Day 1 of REP with a new office selfie!

(I have a tripod now so pictures will start to get more boujee - don't you worry.)
